Our Story

WHEN Justice and WHEN Ventures were jointly founded by health and wellness entrepreneur Roland Peralta.

Roland is a visionary philanthropist, the dynamic cofounder of Nutrafol––the first 100% drug-free hair growth supplement––as well as the pioneering force behind The Root Cause Project––a documentary storytelling nonprofit that highlights functional medicine protocols that holistically address the root cause of human illness and disease.

In all that he does, Roland sees opportunities for new and better approaches. His determined optimism and internal compass drove him to look for better ways to overcome his own chronic illnesses––including rheumatoid arthritis and thyroid cancer—and compel him now to forge new pathways to profit that bring justice, sustainability, and innovation into harmony.

In 2025, Roland formed the WHEN companies alongside Jacqueline Biner, an experienced and forward-thinking lawyer resolved to drive systemic change. Shaped by her science education and decades-long career in the corporate sector, Jackie is dedicated to holding to account those who financially benefit from the degradation of health and the environment.

Roland, Jackie, and the WHEN team aim to revolutionize how fundraising on behalf of carefully selected causes can securitize environmental justice, empower individuals to take positive action, and accelerate the shift toward an economic system that values and sustains life.
